According to the archeological findings, this area was inhabited 4000 years BC and the principal reason of the inhabitation of the area of Baska Voda has been the spring of drinking water.

On July 2, 2020, I visited Baska Voda to check if the town is welcoming tourists despite the pandemic.

The trail leads from Baška Voda, a village on the coast, towards the village of Bast, which is located at the foot of the mountain Biokovo near the Nature Park. The trail climbs steadily along a macadam road through fields and olive groves to the village of Bast, located at the southern end of the Sveti Ilija tunnel. Along the way there are beautiful views of Biokovo on one side and the sea.
